This is the minute book of Salem Baptist Church. It includes misc and sundry information as transcribed by the WPA. The purpose and rules of the church were interesting and I copied them but have not transcribed them here.

Pg 4 - Wm Dale & Adam Dale recorded as principals Oct term 1809 (Both of these men's names crop up throughout the minutes)

Pg 23 - Oct Term 1810 - Martha Fite listed as member

Pp 23 - Mar Term 1811 - Bro Fite charged with being intociated and using improper language

Pg 24 - Apr Term 1811 - John Fite charged with being intociated with Spirts and Liquors at many different times and made use of improper language

Pg 25 - Mar Term 1812 - John Fite expelled from Meeting

Pg 26 - Bro John HAES rec'd by experience

Pg 26 - Mary Term 1812 - Bro John HAAS priviledge to use the fits of Exortation in the bounds of the church

Pg 27 - Jun Term 1812 - Hanah L. Overall & Cathy HAAS joined church

Pg 29 - Apr Term 1813 - John Fite & John HAAS & Wm Dale are all privileged to make their appointment in the bounds or out of the bounds of the church as they may think proper or feel their minds impreyed to preach the word of the Lord.

Pg 31 - Jan 1814 - Bro John HAAS appointed to talk to Jacob PERRIMON as to why he has not been attending church. John HAAS is impowered to "Cite" him to the Church.

Pg 31 - Jan 1814 - John HAAS and wife CATHY left church

Pg 38 - Jacob OVERALL made application to join church and was put off until next conference.

Pg 108 - May Term 1844 - Lewis Y Davis furnished the certificate of his election as Justice of the Peace in District #1 and was duly qualified & sworn

Pg 174 - Oct 1845 - Brackett Estes (who was appointed guardian of children of Phillip Haas May Term 1848) was appointed overseer on road. Workers were Albert G HASS & Phillip HASS

Pg 259 - Apr Term 1847 - Bracett Estes overseer on road, Workers were Albert G Haas & James Haas

Pg 334 - May Term 1848 - Bracket Estes appointed guardian for heirs of Philip Haas Decd. No children's names listed: On Motion Brackette Estes was duly appointed Guardian for the heirs of Philip Haas deceased and entered into bond together with Joseph Young "blonds" to Matthews Parker his securties appointed by the court in the penal sum of seventy five dollars which bond was duly acknowledged in open court and ordered to be filed

Pg 334 - May Term 1848 - Sending out someone to correct road work done by Brackett Estes. He was replaced as overseer by Albert G Hass and Albert Hass was assigned Dillard & James Hass as workers

Also ordered by courts that John A Spakman, Peyton Berry & Burton Hicks be attached to Albert G HAAS present list of road hands
