May 13, 1790, will of James Davenport (Jr., indicated in 10/7/1791 action by Frederick Davenport), probated 7/1790. Names wife Johannah, children Luranah, Elkanah, Frederick, Moses, Isiah, Ann, Leah, Uriah . Executors: son Frederick Davenport, John Norman, James Davenport. Witnesses: Joseph Davenport, Sr., Elizabeth Norman, Joseph Phelps.

Gives items to Rosey Davenport, Leah Wiley, Rachell Row (widow of Elkanah Davenport - Ed.), Frederick Davenport, Jr., Ester Davenport (daughter of Moses), Luraney Willey, James Davenport (son of Moses), Mary Spruill, Harriett Spruill, Betsy Spruill, Elexander Davenport (son of Moses), Edmand (son of Moses), Neding (Nathan?) (son of Moses). Executors: Frederick Davenport son of Moses, and Moses Davenport.

Jul 25, 1755, will of Thomas Wynne in Tyrrell County states that he has a daughter Lidya Davenport and a grandson Stephen Wynne Davenport. Says Stephen is under 16.

Jul 29, 1746, will of Jacob Davenport, probated Sep1746. Names wife Rachel [who was pregnant with Lurane - Ed.], daughter Anne, brothers William, John, James. Witnesses: Edwd. Phelps, John Brown, John Davenport, Sr. (NC Reg 1:202)

Jun 30, 1748, deed gift of John Davenport, Sr. Names wife Ann Davenport; sons Richard, John, James, Joseph, William Davenport; Mary Davenport, daughter of William; Ann & Lurana, daughters of Jacob Davenport, dec'd. Witnesses: Christian Barrett, W. Barrett.

Jun 1751, Court orders that James Davenport, Executor of Jacob Davenport's will, is to be the guardian of Jacob's children, Ann and Lurane. Bond was paid. Minutes of the June, 1751 session of the Tyrrell County, NC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1:95.

Jun 1751, Court ordered that Rachell Davenport, widow of Jacob Davenport, turn over the child Ann Davenport to the custody of James Davenport, Executor. Likewise, Edward Phelps is ordered to give custody of Lurane Davenport, the other child, to James Davenport. Minutes of the June, 1751 session of the Tyrrell County, NC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1:96.

Sep 1751, Rachell Davenport (widow of Jacob Davenport - Ed.) ordered to appear in court and explain why she had not remanded custody of her children Ann Davenport and Lurania Davenport to James Davenport, Executor of Jacob Davenport's will. Minutes of the September, 1751 session of the Tyrrell County, NC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1:105.

Mar 1754, Court appoints Francis Ward guardian of Ann and Lurena Davenport, orphans of Jacob Davenport. Bondsmen John Daly and Daniel Garrett. Minutes of the March, 1754 session of the Tyrrell County, NC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, 1:204.

Mar 1756, Lurane named as minor child of Jacob Davenport at execution of Jacob's will.

1762, Land deed Lourane Davenport to Nathan Miars. (Tyrrell County DB 4, p. 224)

Mar 18, 1762, Francis Ward & his wife Rachell (widow of Jacob Davenport - Ed.) to Nathan Miars planter of Tyrrell Co. 18 Mar 1762. 60 pounds paid to Ann Davenport & Susana (Lurana?) Davenport daughters of sd Rachell by her first husband Jacob Davenport dec'd. 114 acres which was her right of dower & of 218 acres patented to Jacob Davenport 16 Jun 1741 & left to sd Rachell wife of Francis. Witnesses: James Legett, William King.

Feb 9, 1763, deed Francis Ward to William Morris, 100 acres on West side of Welshes Creek, adjoining John Browney. Witnesses: Ann Davenport, Lun. (Lurana?) Davenport.
