Know all men by these presents that I Ephraim Davenport of the county and state aforesaid, for the good will and affection which I have and do ?bear towards Charles Swain of the county and state aforesaid have given and granted and do by these presents give and grant unto the aforesaid Charles Swain one certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid bounded as following-beginning at a black gum Charles Cliftons Corner tree standing on the north side of ?Baileys ridge, running thence along a line of marked trees to Chessons line thence along Chessons line to the south side of the seccond ridge thence eastwardly to a poplar thence bounding the swamp by various courses round to the first station containing five acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the above premises unto him the aforesaid Charles Swain and to be free and clear from me and my heirs and no other person in witness my hand and seal this 4th day of May 1829
