This Indenture made the 25th day of October 1834 Between Abram Davenport of the one part and A. H. Davenport of the other part, both of the county and State aforesd, Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy eight oo/100 dollars to me in hand paid by the aforesd A. H. Davenport, the receipt whereof I do herein acknowledge myself full satisfied and contented, have granted, bargained and sold unto the sd A. H. Davenport, his heirs and assigns, a certain piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the county aforesd, on the West side of Scuppernong River, and butted and bounded as follows Viz Beginning at a Pine and Sweet Gum corner tree measuring S. 89 E. along a line of marked trees 52 3/4 poles to a White laurel, Corner tree, -- Davis, thence S. 3 W 159 poles along a line of marked trees to a Poplar, thence at 87 W along a line of marked trees 52 3/4 poles a Pine corner tree of Thos. Arnold, thence N 3 159 poles along a line of marked trees to the first station, containing by Estimation 52 Acres, -- Rood, 25 Poles more or less. To have to to hold, the aforesd premises, with all and singular the appurtenances here documented and implemented in any way apportaining the sd premises, to him the aforesd A. H. Davenport, the heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, forever, And the sd Abram Davenport will forever warrant and defend the same against any claims of my self or heirs. In Witness those herewith set my hand and seal date and day written
