By Virtue of an order of the County Court of Washington County granted to me at May Term 1833 of the said Court as Guardian to Zephaniah Spruill, Andrew, Henry, Nicey, Evan, Orris, George, Burton & Nancy Spruill Infants of Aaron Spruill decd & Authorising me to expose to sail [sic] the lands herein after described, I Alexander H. Davenport Guardian as aforesaid after complying with the terms by duly Advertising the same and performing the other Requests of said order did expose to public sale to the highest bidder a tract of Land the Interest belonging to said Infants laying in Washington County and bounded as follows Viz., beginning at the Corner of the old pattent of Zeph. Davis in said County near Scuppernong River, then north 140 poles to the back line of the pattent, thence west one hunder and ten poles to the west corner of said pattent, thence south one hundred and sixty poles, thence east fifty poles to Thomas Pearce line, then down Thomas Pearces land lines to the first Station containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less, whereupon Hardy N. Spruill appeared among the bidders and bid therfore the sum of fifty seven dollars and seventy six cents and that being the last and highest bid it was struck off to him. Now be it know that in consideration of the said money paid and secured to be paid, I have bargained and sold and do hereby bargain and sell unto the said Hardy N. Spruill his Heirs, assigns forever, the afore described premises to have and to hold, the same to him, his heirs and assigns forever-it being expressable understood that I warrant and defend the aforesaid premises from any claim or the claims of my Heirs only by any title heretofore ??-In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fix my seal this 10 day of August 1833.

I Hardy N. Spruill do hereby Indorse and set over unto Alexander H. Davenport forever the above mentioned pieces or tracts of land, all my right, title, Interst of the above land to the said Davenport, and bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the same unto him the above mentioned Alexander H. Davenport to him his heirs and assigns, executors, & adminstrators for a vluable consideration to me in hand paid by the aforesaid Alexander H Davenport, In Witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and fix my seal this the 29 day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hundred & thirty four
