This Indenture made 17th February 1827 between Silvanus Spruill of the one part, and Alexander H. Davenport ??Junr and J B Davis of the other part, both of the County aforesaid witnesseth, that the said S. Spruill for and in consideration of the full sum of one hundred thirty four dollars twenty four cents to me in hand paid by A. H. Davenport and J. B. Davis the receipt whereof I the said S. Spruill doth hereby acknowledge myself fully satisfied and contented have granted bargan sold unto the said A. H. Davenport and J. B. Davis their heirs and assigns one piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid, and on the head of the branches of Scuppernong River--Beginning at the road in Andrew Batemans line at a Pine, thence along the said line to John Davis ??Snr patent line, thence the courses of the said patent to the westwardly corner, thence southwardly along the said patent line to the line of the old patent, thence westwardly along the old patent line to the cross road leading from Davenports road to Elias Olivers, thence along the road to Elias Olivers line from thence eastwardly along the said line to the first station-this including Fifty Acres be the same more or less, together with every improvement and appurtenance thereto belonging or in any wise apertaining unto the said A. Davenport and J. B. Davis their heirs and executors administrators and assigns, and I the said S. Spruill doth for me myself my heirs and executors and administrators and assigns forever warrant and defend the above bargained premises unto the said A. Davenport and J.B. Davis their heirs executors and assigns from all lawful claims of me, my heirs and from the lawful claim of any other person.
