N.C. Tyrrel County. I Jos. Alexander, Regr of the County of Tyrrel do certify the within to be a true copy of a Grant from the State to Josiah Collins this same having been reordered in the Register Office of Tyrrel County the 14th day of Nov. 1796 in Book No 12, Page 172

To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings & Know Ye that we for in consideration of the sum of thirty shillings for every hundred ?hundred acres hereby Granted paid into our Treasury by Josiah Collins of the town of Edinton & County of Chowan have given and granted by these presents do give & grant unto the sd Josiah Collins a Tract of land containing Fiftenn thousand acres lying & being in the County of Tyrrel on the South Side of Albemarl Sound & between the head of Scuppernong River and Kendricks Creek. In Testimony whereof we have caused these our Letters to be made patent & our Great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Samuel Ashe Esquire our Governor Captain General & Commander in Chief at Raleigh the6th day of June in the 10th year of our Independence in the year of our Lord 1796.
