Cornell University has scanned in all of "The War of the Rebellion" - a compilation of the official records of the Union and Confederate armies published under the direction of the Secretary of War. After poking around on the site I found that the "General Index" starts on page 62 of the Series 4 Volume 4* (lower right corner) Series 3 Index is in Volume 5. Appears to be a site that requires spending time to learn about but well worth the effort. You have to click on Making of America and then use the search engine (The War of the Rebellion) - scan down until you find the series. http://cdl.library.cornell.edu/.
