Henry Davenport (biography) married 16 Jan 1805 Elizabeth Easley in Va., moved to Ga. on an land grant given to his father Thomas Davenport of Halifax Co., Va. Children were Amanda, Thomas, Henry, Robert, Elizabeth, Smith, William. By 1850 had married Cassandra Ward and was living in Clarke Co., GA.
Thomas Davenport (History of Sumter Co., GA. (contributed by Mary King Givens) 1817-1910, born in Halifax Co., Va., son of Thomas Davenport congressman and his wife. In 1840 as a young man he and his brother George rode from Va. to visit their cousin Henry Davenport at the Plains of Dura, afterwards called Plains, Ga. He settled in the area and later moved to Americus.
From these records it appears that Thomas Davenport Jr., son of Thomas Davenport Sr., was born c. 1720 and died by Sept 1780 Cumberland Co., Va. He married in Cumberland Co. on 28 April 1750 to Lucy Ransome, daughter of Ambrose Ransome, and she died by August 1781 in Cumb. Co. They had two children, Thomas and Anne/Nancy. Anne Davenport married on 5 Nov 1772 in Cumb. Co. to John Woodson and had at least two children Lucy Woodson and Joseph Woodson. Thomas Davenport (minor or Jr. 2nd) was born by 1755 and died c. 1808 in Halifax Co., VA. He was married to Elizabeth Guerrant. They had probable children Henry, Thomas, Lucy, and James.
James married 6 Dec 1796 to Jincey Hart and he was probably deceased by 1810 when her father left provision for the maintenance of Jincy and her children. They were probably the parents of Wilson Davenport who married 1820 to Polly Lowry.
Lucy Davenport married 24 Feb 1792 Halifax Co. to Parmenus Colquitt.
Thomas Davenport married 28 May 1799 to Jane Davenport and had at least two sons Thomas and George. Jane was the daughter of David Davenport of Cumb. Co.
Henry Davenport married 16 Jan 1805 to Elizabeth Easley and migrated to Ga.
